A peniscopy is an examination of the glans and the foreskin using magnifying lenses.

Lesions linked to papillomavirus (HPV) are sought by coating the glans and the foreskin with diluted acetic acid. It is a painless examination. Peniscopy serves as a useful guide in the treatment of mucocutaneous lesions.

   All these lesions call for early, accurate diagnosis with a view to proper treatment. Some can only be diagnosed after a biopsy.
